Rules for the Sponsors

You must have a website ready to put a dragon image on, no questions over this one.
For sponsorships, I prefer to have a character in the hatching who can take the hatchling home and help care for it. Stats pages are okay, but I prefer stories that give me a decent insight into the character and are backed up by a stat page. No galleries of cyberpets and absolutely nothing related to neopets will be accepted.
I have to be able to read the site, so no neon backgrounds or such, my eyes are bad enough already.
I don't particularly care how many pets, bonds, or previous sponsorships your sponsor has had, just as long as there's a small story-segment discussing their coming to Clan Akelara and becoming a sponsor here.
Try to keep it to a PG-13 rating. A few curse words are ok, as long as its tasteful (as in, fits in with the character, and the circumstances warrant it). I will accept more mature content, but please put a warning at the beginning of your story for those few people left in our community who are underage, or those who don't like to read mature content. I'm perfectly comfortable reading nearly anything, these days, though I still prefer tasteful content -- a good rule of thumb is that, if the mature content doesn't do anything to further the story, it doesn't belong.
No upper age limit on sponsors, but please have them older than 13, and not some crotchety old human on his (or her) last legs. A child will potentially have trouble with a growing dragon, and an elder will as well. If you believe your sponsor should be exempt from this, email me and we'll discuss it.
Please read the information in the Library if the clutch is a pureblood clutch of one of my races.
Along those lines, always look to see what information is listed on the Candidate and Sponsor page about what the clutches will potentially have hatching from them, because I will say precisely what sort of offspring can be expected in terms of breed, powers, or so on. You can suggest anything within those limits that you feel would be acceptable. Do note, though, that in the end it's up to me.
Absolutely no messing with my images. The ones that are being used from now are going to be decently sized, so there'll be no need to resize them. I also forbid flipping, recoloring, claiming them as yours, and so on. What I DO allow, though, is making thumbnails for use in tables (similar to what DragonFlight's done with her searchable database) and the like. Also! I use .png format exclusively now. If you'd prefer another format, just ask and ye shall receive.
You can suggest some names for your dragon, and chances are that I'll use it, but check the Candidate and Sponsor page to be sure of any naming conventions that will be used. Unless you say otherwise, I won't use your names for other dragons.
Don't send in more than two sponsors for a clutch. If you want to send more, send me an email, and we'll discuss it.
Please link back to the main page ( http://www.silveredmagic.com/akelara/ ) clearly. No "here" or "there" links are acceptable, a link to "Clan Akelara" must be visible somewhere on the pages.
The number of images to a clutch will depend upon how creative I'm feeling at the time, but in general I'll be trying for two, a hatchling and an adult stage. Do try to have them up in a timely fashion, two weeks being the working deadline for each stage, but if you need more time tell me before the deadline is passed.
