Rame'zai, you've returned. Dos'elged stretched and rose from his nest, watching as his sister advanced her way into his den. Beside him, Queen Keridell yawned and stretched, before resuming her sprawl next to him to watch the conversation with lazy eyes.
The leopard patterned hybrid inclined her head slightly, I have, carrying the message the rest of our kin have been waiting for. The time for our heritage to be revealed is at hand.
The silver hybrid nodded, his ears flicking as he considered the path before them. Then the Loekairii have something in mind, I will assume?
They've been gathering, yes, but say that all will be revealed in time.
Very well, then. That's about as much as we can expect from them. Dos'elged began moving from the den, the tip of his long tail coiling around to playfully flick Queen Keridell's ears as he left, Rame'zai at his side.
The Queen's snarl of annoyance was followed by a heavy thump as she leapt from the nest to the ground and stalked up to Dos'elged's side, I have it in my mind to send you tumbling head over tail for that, fool.
His ears flicked forward as he turned his head to give the Queen an amused glance, then, apparently just to spite her, his long tongue flicked out and slid over her face and back, slicking her silver fur down with saliva.
BLEH! Dragon-spit!! If the world had been fair, Dos'elged would have burst into flames from the glare Keridell was giving him.
But as it wasn't, he merely smirked at her and continued out of the den, returning his attention to his sister as he went, There's been several new nexiian communities coming into existence since we hybrids first arrived, pick one of them and make it your home.
When she nodded, he sent her mental directions to some of the new communities then watched as she took off and vanished from the sky.
Left alone with his thoughts, the silver hybrid gazed at the sky for a few moments longer, before turning back to his den. There was much to prepare, if the other half of their parentage wished to make itself known in the nexus, and, now that it had begun, not much time to prepare for it.
Zasanona, what news? Dos'elged looked over at his companion as she settled beside him.
Things are moving forward much more rapidly than we expected, came her reply. I've spoken with some of our brothers and sisters, and it seems that there have been spottings here and there of Loekairii - male, by all accounts, but you know the females won't be too far behind.
Dos'elged sighed heavily then rose from his place, Do they enjoy making us scramble to keep up? By the Ancestors! I'm going to have to speak with them, see if I can't get them to cease this for a time.
And the odds of them listening...?
About as good as the odds of Queen Keridell admitting she's wrong.
I heard that! came Keridell's yowl of annoyance, followed by a hefty paw swatting at Dos'elged's muzzle, Why I put up with you I'll never figure out!
The silver hybrid ducked back, grinning widely when Keridell's paw swipes only air, Because you love me, why else? He only grinned wider at Keridell's grumbled response, then turned to Zasanona again, Go back out, continue to speak with our brothers and sisters. We need to get clues planted and the nexus open-minded about what's to come before too many issues occur. I'm going to go and have a little... talk... with our parents about this. I thought they'd agreed to let us handle this.
And you believed them? came Zasanona's amused reply as she watched her brother prepare to take off.
More's the pity, yes. I'll remember to not do so in the future.
