Frontier Territory of Laruen

Ristos is a territory of the country Laruen, one of the frontier colonies settled generations ago and slowly expanded through war and blatant stealing of land from the natives. Despite being part of Laruen for generations and diligent in their expansion, Ristos retains its position as a frontier colony.

Five generations ago, Ristos was given to the Midali family as reward for service during the War of Zerossi, along with the title of Neo'Savok. They share a border with Kidasi, a frontier land ruled by the Unant family, and with Fyrdan, ruled by the Larju family. Traditionally, the three families share close ties with one another, supporting each other in their various endeavors, but with Cetirnen's rise to power, those ties are slowly unwinding. While Cetirnen honors the pact of support between their three lands, he has very little in common with the other rulers, being Strategist trained instead of Knight trained, and being as much of a recluse as he is.

Cetirnen is making no secret of his slow collection of such 'exotic' creatures as the dragons appear to be to his people, driving another wedge between him and other Neo'Savoks and Savoks of Laruen. Several offers for marriage have been withdrawn due to his 'ecclectic tastes', leaving the field pretty barren for Cetirnen, much to the dismay of his staff. Except for a few small side-branches of the family, none of which retain the family name, Cetirnen is the last Midali, having neither siblings nor close cousins.
