Personality:

Evoril is a forceful man, impossible to sway when his mind has been made up. His will is as much of a weapon as his magic is, and, in fact, he has been known to manifest magic purely through will, completely bypassing incantations. In the process of forging that will, however, Evoril had little interaction with people, and is thus rather withdrawn and uncommunicative, speaking only when he sees no other option.

He doesn't deal well with foolishness, and has little time for anything he views as worthless, whether that be a person, a thing, or an activity. Evoril's patience is often tried by others, which only reinforces his withdrawn nature, but there is still a small part of him that desires the company of others.

Description:

Tall and lithe, Evoril has quite a bit of muscle on his body as a result of his travels across the world. Still, he remains a mage at heart, and though he is perfectly capable of wielding a short blade with deadly accuracy, he never carries one on his person unless forced. His hair is a bright tropical blue and falls to midback, the locks fine and straight. He has apple green eyes that miss little, and his skin, though pale, has a light tan.

His outfit tends to consist of a black tunic, a deep blue robe and matching cloak, black pants, and knee-length leather boots. He has a bright blue talisman around his neck, three golden hoops in each ear (one for each family of spells he knows - Ritual, Mage, Spirit, Summon, Night Lord, and Racial), and a plain red ring on his left hand. He is left handed.

History:

Evoril is one of those poor sods who everything seems to happen to. Though he's old by pure human standards, he's rather young by Agaril standards - only barely into his adulthood, with plenty of life ahead of him... if, that is, he doesn't die from any of the crazy things that occur around him.

His life was normal enough until his people decided to enter hibernation. Agaril require a certain amount of magic about in order to survive, and the magic was slowly fading from the world. The plan was that they would sleep away the mana's waning, and wake up once more as mana grew strong again.

For reasons unknown to Evoril (especially since he had no input in designing the hibernation, as he was only a teen when the decision was made), he woke up to a barren, time-locked city - all other Agaril, including his parents, remained locked in sleep. He spent several years studying the books on magic theory, trying to understand what had occured, but (except for gaining several Agaril specific skills, such as Teleportation through a chosen element, knowledge of ritual magic, and the ability to summon) his studies came to naught.

Realizing that he would gain nothing more from study without some experience (and secretly very lonely), he set out into the world. His years alone with nothing but summons and books at his side made him withdrawn and uncommunicative, and he wandered without focus for another few years. Evoril constantly taught himself new spells, forging his will into a weapon in and of itself.

It was during those wanderings that he found the Spire of Night, the focal-point of power for the Lord of Death... otherwise known as the Lord of Night to the current humans who inhabited the world. As Evoril had already dedicated himself (partially) to the shadows through choosing that as his teleportation medium, he decided to see if the Lord would accept him as a follower.

The Lord accepted, and Evoril spent another few years learning new spells and ways, eventually being granted the honor of guarding the Soul Storm while the usual guard recovered from battle-wounds.

And that is where it all went downhill.
