Shanyar - Sh'yar

Shanyar is a rather laid back man, with a laugh that comes easily to his lips and a 'devil-may-care' attitude about the 'serious' things in life. He easily brushes off criticism or taunts and moves on, not dwelling on things he's done wrong or the opinions of others about him - to him, doing things wrong just means he needs more practice, and what right do other people he doesn't know have to judge him? Not to say that he lets himself be walked on. Shanyar has a spine of steel when he needs it, and isn't afraid to confront people, even if he does try to reason with words before fists.

He's a lone fisherman at heart, loving the peace of sitting in a boat (or on shore) with a hook and line and reeling in the catch. Fishing as part of fleet, with boats and nets and people all around him, isn't entirely to his liking, but has its own benefits as well, and he accepts both sides of the coin with a philosphical shrug and a grin.

Shanyar is a well built young man, strong from years of hauling lines and pulling nets in both rough seas and calm. He's been part of his father's crew since he was 13, and had been helping to haul the catch off the boats at an even younger age, and the work has left him with calloused hands and good balance. Shanyar typically keeps his brown hair cropped close, to keep it out of his eyes when it's plastered flat by spray or rain, but has been letting it grow out a bit while waiting for the hatching to occur. His sky blue eyes are warm and friendly, and his skin, while a bit weather roughened, is a pale color that refuses to tan darker, but instead tends to burn if he's out in the sun for long periods of time.

Accustomed to wearing no shoes (especially on deck), Shanyar resorts to sandals when he absolutely must, or boots if he has to go tromping out in the show (but only then!). As for clothing... well, whatever fits and comes to hand tends to be thrown on with little thought for appearance's sake. If he knows he's going to be out fishing for an entire day, he'll make sure to cover as much of his skin as possible to keep from burning as badly. Shanyar does not, however, tend to wear loose clothing or clothing with strings or dangling 'embellishments' on them, as such things could get in the way or potentially hurt him while on a fishing boat.
