Ketas

Ketas is a stable, dependable man who tends to operate by the books. Never late for anything, he's gained a reputation of reliability that serves him well in his position of Guardsman. He has a quiet sense of humor, a self-confident ease about him, and doesn't mind playing public relations man. Whenever Captain Kallis goes to meet with outsiders, Ketas is at his side (along with Rakelo, but that's because Rak is the official Lieutenant of their little group).

In his free time, Ketas practices woodworking, a strange hobby for a military man and the son of nobles, but one that he finds enjoyment in. He figures, since he's no longer a part of that society, there's no point in constraining himself to those old ways. He loves a friendly challenge, and doesn't tend to care whether he wins or loses, just that he (and the rest) had fun while doing it. He accepts his bond's paranoia with the same stability that he shows in his day to day life, and chooses to not let it bother him too much, though he does listen to Rani's thoughts instead of immediately discounting them.

Ketas' parents bought him an officer's commission when he was barely old enough to enter the military. He took to it well enough, but never rose above Lieutenant before that fateful day when he, Lin, Lieutenant Rakelo, and Captain Kallis were coopted to become Riders. Because this meant that he could never return to his position in the military (and because he wasn't quite sure what else to do with himself), he was reluctant to go.

Ranianth was a surprise for him, as was the offer of a military position in a small Clan. But wherever Captain Kallis goes, Ketas will follow.
