Anrak is bold and confident in his abilites, with a bit of a swagger to his step whenever he strolls through the Clan proper. While he isn't overconfident (extreme conditions where life is literally hand to mouth does keep one from becoming overconfident), he is well aware that very few people in the Clan can do what he does: hunt the cold, desolate regions of planets for anything tangible, perform winter rescues, and otherwise keep the Clan in ready food during the winter.

Going hand-in-hand with Anrak's confident, devil-may-care attitude is his curiousity. If it's out there, and he doesn't know about it, he wants to know. He wants to explore, to see things no one else has. And it's this desire, this drive to know the unknown that keeps Anrak from being more than a mere Hunter in the Clan, while his children have all made places and names for themselves in the Clan proper.
