Anuzerru alAatars
Silver Heavens and Shattered Stars
Anuzerru alAatars, meaning Silver Heavens and Shattered Stars, is an ancient world, covered in a multitude of ruins and remains of civilizations long gone. The name is often shortened to merely Anuzerru, Silver Heavens, and comes from a legend of creation told by the Ensior, one of the first races on the planet to create, tell, and record stories.
The legend goes...
Before the world was alive with creatures, before even the World Mother had awoken from her deepest sleep, there existed the universe and the stars above, set in place by C'Tae the Dancer as she explored and, laughing, tossed handfuls of shed scales into the air, loving the way they glittered and sparked there amidst the darkness so much that she commanded they stay.
Behind her followed Ch'Varu the Warrior and Ch'Phel the Keeper, C'Tae's brothers who would do anything for her within their power. Seeing their sister so joyous, the two began to argue over what they could do to keep her in such a state. Ch'Varu the Warrior proclaimed that they should seek out beings across the universe for their sister to play with. Ch'Phel the Keeper declared that it wasn't the company she wanted, it was the stories, and that only he of the two was suited to going out and bringing back such information.
Ch'Varu the Warrior took offense, lunging at his brother and hooking his long claws deep into the crevices between his brother's scales. Ch'Phel roared in anguish, lashing out with his own claws, sending silver sparks into the air around them, sparks that drifted down to the world above which they fought and stained the blue sky molten silver, sparks which clustered together, drawn about one of C'Tae's largest scales, and illuminated the world for the first time with their light.
C'Tae the Dancer heard her brother's row, and turned back to see what was wrong, staring in shock as her brothers lashed about, locked together by claws and tail and jaws. As she watched, Ch'Varu the Warrior ripped his claws free, sending a shower of scales and blood upon the world below. Ch'Phel the Keeper lashed his tail in pain, shattering the sparkling scales that C'Tae had set in place, glittering shards creating a dusting of brilliant specks across the darkness, a few drifting down to settle on the world below.
In anguish, two crystalline tears fell from C'Tae's eyes, landing one next to the other on the barren ground of the world above where the fighting took place. Seeing this, both brothers ceased their fighting and crept to C'Tae with heads bowed, knowing that they, and nothing else, had caused her to be in such pain as to shed her rare tears.
Feeling the true remorse in her brothers, C'Tae the Dancer touched both gently, calling up her strength to heal her youngest brother, Ch'Phel the Keeper, and forgiving both at the same time. Ch'Varu the Warrior spoke of why they had argued, and C'Tae was enthralled by both ideas, saying that she wished to see more of the universe and what the Great Mother had created while they played.
In agreement, the three left, the wind of their passing stirring the blood and scales and sparks and tears that had fallen upon the world. And from that rose the first Little Ones, whose stirring slowly awoke the World Mother from her sleep of centuries and began the cycle that created this world we now live in.
And C'Tae the Dancer and her brothers? They yet explore the universe, adding little touches to what the Great Mother had created, leaving their own mark upon a universe created just for them and the life they brought to it with every passing.
