Celerise

Celerise is a strange-looking creature. She stands upon tall, stilt-like legs that fold on several joints, giving her the ability to stand at human height or to rise much taller. Her body looks like a series of husks rolled together, and while wispy, silken layers may flap about her body in a breeze, she doesn't seem to shed. Her face opens up, a hollow filled with flickering fire. This fire wavers when she speaks, and a thin trickle of smoke always issues from the concave shape of her face. She looks monstrous, though she usually keeps folded down to avoid terrorizing people more than they already are.

Celerise is not the rampaging monster that she might first appear to be; while she is predatory (she feeds by lighting her prey on fire and sucking in the ashes it burns!), she is also quite civilized. She comes across as cold and inquisitive -- being one of the only people of her species to want to interact with humanity and the rest of the Nexus, this is a true enough assumption. Celerise does not regard the world in the same way that humanity does; her attention to detail runs deep, though she seems easily distracted as she flits from subject to subject.
