When the strange dragon approached them, walking delicately across the gemstone sands on its hindlegs, Revent and Yikaeri were surprised. When they finally noticed that it walked on its hindlegs for a reason - it was a wyvern, its wings unsuited to walking - they became troubled.
Please, do not be alarmed, the water blue wyvern rumbled, as he came to a halt a respectful distance from them, I am Aloshian, a stranger to these lands. I come seeking a place for myself and those who will come after me. With your permission, may I create a lake beyond your walls?
Revent blinked and exchanged a puzzled look with his mate, before addressing the wyvern in front of them, "You want to... create a lake outside our walls?"
"Why should we trust you?" Yikaeri's words snapped at the heels of Revent's question.
Aloshian bowed his head to the broody dragoness, I am a water mage, milady. I mean neither you nor your kyth and kin harm, and am merely asking permission to create a habitat where dragons more comfortable in the water than on land could live. If you wish me to be gone, then I will--
"That won't be necessary," Revent cut in. "We're merely a bit... leery... of newcomers."
"The west is taken," Yikaeri busied herself in checking that her eggs were fine, her voice laden with venom, "But you seem trustworthy. A better neighbor than them at least. There is a river to the east, if you wish to settle there."
The east will more than do, milady. I thank you. Aloshian bowed once more to the two leaders, before taking a few careful steps backwards. Once he was satisfied with his distance from the pair, he leapt gracefully into the air, looping back along himself and navigating the corridors out, leaving two bemused dragons behind him.
