Chloe
You call me insane, but if sanity is based on normalcy, and no one is normal,
how can I be insane?

~~Personality~~
::Mental Disorders:: Schizophrenia/schizotypal*, Post-traumatic stress disorder
::General:: In-drawn, very in-drawn. Chloe is the type to wear jackets and clothing with too-long sleeves that hang over her hands, and hug herself wherever she walks. It's almost as if she has a tangible, invisible shell around her, that she glances out of furtively as she goes. She doesn't get close to people and she hates to be touched, and keeps to the edges of societies. She hates people, she distrusts them, and all they've ever done for her never helped anything-- most of the time it made things worse. She's also incredibly empathetic, picking up on the emotions of everyone around her-- but rather than causing her to come out of her shell a bit, this causes her to retract further. If she talks, it's in a low hiss, with a strong, unidentifiable accent. She hisses at people for looking at her too long-- unless, of course, they're non-human. She objects to humanoid things as a matter of unchanging fact, and anything with a "human mind"- that is, a fairly selfish I-am-the-only-normal-thing-and-everything-is-here-to-be-colonized-and-used outlook on life. It's hard as hell to get under her shell, but possible-- doing it has a lot to do with very gentle coaxing and none of the aforementioned outlook. It's harder, of course, for humans, though possible.
If you get her to come out of her shell, she's always suspicious and wary, but that's a given. She's quite blunt, in a sarcastic not-amused kind of way, and she'll speak her mind. She'll also support you, but in a very unconventional way-- you don't cry on her shoulder. she pushes you forward. if you fall, metaphorically, she'll push and even kick at you until you get up again. You aren't allowed to fall, she did it, and you are going to too, damnit, or else. The only exception to this is when something has hurt you to the point where you CAN'T do it yourself-- in which case, she'll hold you  and be nurturing for awhile, and then spur you on when you can.
She's also surprisingly interested in bonds and bonding, for as much as she herself has had bad experiences with it. She knows she's mentally sick and has a problem with trusting people, and she doesn't particularly want to be this bad the rest of her life, though trust is not something she'll likely be capable of very soon. She does know that a bond is deep, and that kind of depth you CAN trust, and she wants that again. Hence, her looking for a bond.

~~History~~
::Former Location::
::If Relevant:: *Note one- she was diagnosed in the mental hospital as having schizophrenia, though those at the mental hospital actually gave her perhaps a few minutes of looking at, and took the hallucinations that came with her PTSD as schizophrenic symptoms. She does display quite a few schizophrenic symptoms, but not enough to justify the diagnosis, and is likely more schizotypal then schizophrenic. Now, to history.
It's full of trauma. Her childhood was rough. Born an unwanted child to a helpless mother and a drunkard father, in a nation that was then corrupt-- particularly to it's lower classes, who had almost no rights. Her father was a member of the upper class, and her mother a lower class he'd married for some reason or another. Her father was abusive, in all three ways. Antisocial. He managed to finally kill her mum when she was 5, by pushing her down the stairs. He made it look as if she'd fallen naturally, and inquiries by the police led to nothing-- not that they were very focused on that anyways. And so, Chloe grew up with this, until she couldn't take it anymore, and killed her father in self defense at the age of 15. Her being a mixed-class female and having killed her upper-class father, her claim of self defense wasn't even looked into, and she was immediately thrown into a mental hospital/jail facility, under the pretense that she was insane.
The mental hospital place wasn't much better than the house from which she'd come. As unfond of touch as she is now, as soon as she was put in with a few other inmates, she got into fights-- particularly since the other inmates were rather fond of teasing her, knowing how much she didn't like to be touched. So, fairly soon, she got moved to the Solitary ward, which was full of guards like her father. Similar traumas.
Eventually, the corruption running everything got majorly overhauled, and the prison was closed. The first chance she got-- which was fairly soon, as everything was chaotic for awhile and no one would miss her until everything was in order again-- she busted out of there, running and hitching rides to.. somewhere. Somewhere eventually happened to be mirror!pern, which was perfect, since it had large uninhabited areas with plenty of recourses for one person to live on, if they knew what they were doing. and she figured out what she was doing soon enough.
Things got chaotic around this time-- she was 19, and had been living in pern for a year, when an unbonded dragon flying sweep noticed her dwelling and came down to investigate. She'd never met a sentient dragon personally before, and the only reason she trusted him enough to talk to him was because he was just that-- a dragon. He convinced her to come to the weyr and stand at the clutch, after a few visits and working slowly at it. She did so, and impressed a green.
The green, however, didn't last too long-- occasionally some mutations are catastrophic, rather than interesting, and one such mutation is when a dragonet is born without any sort of immune system. Yet another trauma to add to Chloe's list.
She was still sane enough, however, to realize that it wasn't the green's fault she'd died, and also to realize just what she'd had. And want it again. Hurt, but rational. Still untrusting of people, she left the weyr to wander again, this time listening out for any bonds happening off-world-- she was quite done with mindspace bonding, and wanted somewhere where genetic problems like that could be predicted slightly easier.

::Size:: 1.8m at shoulder (Small-medium)

~~Skills~~
::Magic:: Rainbow Majyck, Shifting (fixed anthro form), Metal Manipulation, Light Breath
::Physical::
::Mental:: Telepathy

~~Personality~~
::General:: Tiayalith is very much Chloe's opposite in almost every possible way. Trusting and sweet, she enjoys the presence of her fellow dragons AND, to Chloe's mild horror, humanoids as well. She's shy, which is a mild resemblance to her bond, but where Chloe is withdrawn and wants nothing to do with people, and is quite hostile with strangers, Tiayalith is merely coy without meaning to, and is quite friendly if approached. She's also very open ant trusting, not so much of strangers, but of people she's met and whose personality she likes thusfar. She and Chloe get along surprisingly well, considering this difference-- Chloe adores Taiyalith, and vice versa. If anything, the golden dragoness is actually good for Chloe-- Tiayalith is a calming influence, and even makes Chloe a tad more accepting and even slightly sociable. She trusts Chloe completely, and enjoys the anthro's presence, particularly quiet times they spend together with only themselves, and sometimes Nathan.
